Frequently Asked Questions

What is myofascial release therapy?

Myofascial release is a hands-on technique that uses gentle, sustained pressure to release restrictions in the connective tissue (fascia). It improves mobility, reduces pain, and restores natural alignment in the body.

How is it different from regular massage?

Unlike traditional massage, which often targets muscles through kneading or stroking, myofascial release focuses on the fascial system. It involves slow, deliberate techniques that allow the fascia to “melt” and unwind over time.

Is myofascial therapy painful?

Myofascial release should not be painful. Some areas may feel tender or tight, but the work is always performed within your comfort level, allowing your body to relax and respond.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on your condition and goals. Many clients feel noticeable relief after 1–3 sessions, but chronic or long-standing issues often benefit from ongoing treatment.

What should I wear to a session?

Please wear loose, comfortable clothing or athletic wear (like shorts and a tank top) so we can assess movement and work directly with the tissue as needed.

Can this help with posture or work-related pain?

Yes! Myofascial therapy is especially effective for postural imbalances, desk-related strain, and chronic muscle holding patterns. It can improve alignment and reduce repetitive strain over time.

Do you accept insurance?

We do not bill insurance directly, but we’re happy to provide invoices or superbills for clients who wish to submit claims for reimbursement through their out-of-network benefits.
